1. VISION / MISSION / OBJECTIVES:-
Tripura lies in a geographically disadvantageous location in India, as only one major highway, the National Highway 44, connects it with the rest of the country. Due to its geographical isolation, economic progress in the State is hindered. Most residents are involved in agriculture and allied activities, although the service sector is the largest contributor to the State’s gross domestic product. State Government is committed to extend all the basic services to its people like education, health care, connectivity, safe drinking water supply, housing etc. Emphasis is being given on promoting and encouraging participative and competitive sports in the rural areas. State Government has adopted the sports policy, the theme of which is “Sports for all”.
In fact, sports and youth activities are leading the agenda of the State Government. In spite of resource crunch, the State Government is making all out efforts towards promotion of sports and broad basing Sports Infrastructure in order to extend outreach and coverage to all the rural areas of the State as well.

This is done through TSSB and TSC organizing Games & Sports every year in the State through bottom up approach towards promotion of competitive sports.
MASS PARTICIPATION AND COMPETITION
Scouting the sports talent is the most effective tool. The state follows the procedure for identification and Nurturing of Sporting talent through Motor ability test (Body types) in the age group of below 10 years along with medical test by the sports medicine specialist. The other method adopted in conducting the competition of different games/sports in primary school, secondary & higher secondary school organized by the Tripura School Sports Board in every year.
