TRIPURA SPORTS SCHOOL
1. BACKGROUND: Directorate of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of Tripura has established Residential Sports School with a view to Scout and Nurture Sports talents across the State. Under this scheme, the genetically gifted and physically fit children are to be selected on the basis of motor ability test for admission in the School. All basic requirements for Sports, Academics, Accommodation in Hostel and Mess facilities etc. shall be provided by the Authority at free of cost.
2. OBJECTIVES: Tripura Sports School (H.S) is a Centre of Sports Excellence. Its objectives are to excel in National and International competitions by producing High Caliber Sports persons from the State of Tripura. Beside this, School will provide the best Academic facilities to Students on par with Sports.
3. AIM OF THE PROJECT:
- The motto of the project is to produce players for National and International level.
- Achieving more and more medals for the State of Tripura.
- Pass-Out players may serve to the Nation by joining in the field of Defense sector, Sports and Coaching Sector, Railway etc. and others Government and Private sectors.
- To produce overall healthy and physically fit Human Resources.

6. ADMISSION AND WEEDING OUT :
- Government approved Committee to look after the total admission & weeding out procedure in every year.
- Ages of the students in between 9-10 yrs. are dully selected on the basis of motor ability test (Physical, Physiological and Anthropometric Measurements/tests and written test on General Education) right from Block to state Level.
- Besides the above, very outstanding/ extraordinary performer in selected discipline also admitted in upper classes as special category.
- Students who are not up to the mark as per assessment of present performance / physiological development through periodical test and over all discipline may be weeded out.
7. DIET SYSTEM :
An approved diet chart and following schedule are maintained AND all dietary cooked Food supplied by the Quality Tent, Dhaleswar, Agartala, Tripura (West) as per Govt. order (Through e-tender system for the year 2019-21) @ Rs.189.90/- paisa including GST.

3)Lalthapuia Malsom, Judokas has achieved one (01Silver Medal from Sub-Junior National Championship, 2018-19 held at Himachal Pradesh w. e. f. 7th to 11th September, 2018.
4) Smt. Debanjali Nath, Judokas has achieved one (01Bronze Medal from National School Games, 2018-19 (under Khelo India) held at Pune (Maharashtra) w. e. f. 7th to 13th January, 2019. 8)Smt. Anita Jamatia, Smt. Elisha Jamatia, Smt, Umadevi Jamatia, Smt, Sijanti Reang, Smt. Khasmaiti Reang, Smt. Bipurung Reang, Smt. Dhanita Reang and Smt. Anjana Tripura total eight (08) Footballers have represented the State team from Tripura Sports School, Badharghat and achieved Gold Medal from 64th National School Games, 2018-19 Agartala, Tripura w. e. f. 9th to 13th December, 2018 as Champion team in the discipline of Football Girls under 17 Years.
9) Sahar Mahamad, Gymnast, has achieved one (01) Gold and three (03) Silver Medals from 64th National School Games, 2018-19 Agartala, Tripura w. e. f. 15th to 19th December, 2018.
10) Sri Hriday Tripura, Sri Sabat Jamatia, Sri Bhakta Sadhan Jamatia, Sri Apajit Tripura and Sri Bikan Chakma total five (05) Boys Footballers have represented the State team from Tripura Sports School, Badharghat and achieved Gold Medal from 65th National School Games, 2019-20 Agartala, Tripura w. e. f. 9th to 13th December, 2018 turn into as Champion team in the discipline of Football Boys under 17 Years.
11. Smt. Rupabati Jamatia has selected scholarship and also getting scholarship under Khelo India Scheme for her remarkable performance exhibited in different tournament, 2017-18 and 2018-19.
